Dr. Wagner holds joint positions at the University of Pittsburgh as a Chief of Surgical Veterinary Services, Clinical Associate Professor of Veterinary Medicine in the Division of Laboratory Animal Resources and as a Research Associate Professor of Medicine in the School of Medicine’s Department of Medicine. Dr Wagner oversees the Surgical Research program and the Aquatics program for the University of Pittsburgh. He is board certified in exotic animal companion medicine by the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (ABVP – ECM). He practices exotic animal medicine part-time at certain locations. With close to 34 years of exotic animal experience, Dr. Wagner has had a fascinating job history, including veterinary positions at the Pittsburgh Zoo, the National Aviary of Pittsburgh and several wildlife conservation organizations.
